With a lifelong dedication to martial arts, his journey began as a teenager training in Shotokan Karate, where he earned an advanced brown belt. In 2005, a pivotal shift occurred when he was introduced to the Combatives Program during his service in the Army. After mastering all four levels, he had the privilege of serving as the head instructor at Fort Lewis, Washington.
This experience ignited a deeper passion for combat sports, leading him to compete in both Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts. Following a full career and retirement from the Army, he has focused his discipline on training and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. For him, there is no greater gratification than sharing the art, teaching, and passing on his accumulated knowledge to fellow practitioners.
